How to Bulk Import Contacts in Whautomail

Bulk importing contacts helps you quickly upload a large list of contacts into Whautomail - so you can start sending campaigns or automations without adding them one by one.

Steps to Import Contacts in Bulk​

1. Go to Contacts​

  • Open the Whautomail app
  • Select the Audience menu option → click on Contacts to continue

2. Click "Bulk Import"​

  • At the top-right corner of the Contacts page, click the Bulk Import button to start uploading your contacts

3. Download and Prepare Your File​

  • Click the Download Sample File button
  • This sample file shows you the correct format for importing contacts

Required fields:

  • Name
  • Email
  • Status (Subscribed or Pending)

Optional fields:

  • Tags (e.g., Customer, New Lead)
  • Stage (e.g., Lead, Subscriber)
  • Notes
  • Custom Fields

💡 Fill in your contact details in the sample file and save it once done.

4. Upload Your File​

  • Click Choose File
  • Select your updated contact file from your computer

5. Import Your Contacts​

  • Click the Import button to begin uploading your contacts
  • It may take a few minutes, depending on your file size

That's it! Once the import is complete, all your contacts will appear in the Contacts list. You can now use them in Campaigns, Segments, or Automations to engage your audience.
